Book Traveling Thursday #2 | January 12th 2017

Hello and welcome back to my blog! 😁 It is time for another Book Traveling Thrusday, which is a weekly meme where choose a book fitting the topic. This meme has been created and is hosted by Catia and Danielle and you can find more information, as well as topics in this Goodreads group. Please check out this meme, I find it really interesting and I think it’s a lot of fun finding fitting books! 😊

The topic this week is The First Book I have read in 2017 – so it’s a no-brainer! The book I chose is Under the Lights (Field Party #2) by Abbi Glines and it sadly doesn’t have a lot of covers so there aren’t gonna be a lot of different options.

Original Cover:

27206467

I like this cover just fine. It has nice lighting, colors, and the image represents the setting of the story quite well. I love the font used here it reminds me of my High School year in the US, so that’s great. 😉

(Kindle Edition by Simon & Schuster UK, 320 pages)

Cover from my country (Germany):

29970838

This German cover I like a lot. Which is surprising as usually I hate German covers since they kinda always mess beautiful covers up. This is such a typical German YA cover and usually I don’t like those but I am fine with this one. I like the color scheme even though the cover overall doesn’t really fit the story.

(Paperback by Piper Taschenbuch, 368 pages)

Least Favorite Cover:

I actually do not have a lest favorite cover her. The third cover that exists is just a version of the original cover with a slightly different lighting.

Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed it!! ❤

A Book That Got Me Into Reading | #1, October 13th 2016

Today it’s Book Traveling Thursday and it’s my first time participating!! I was really excited to participate in this meme and I’m happy that I finally get to do so! Book Traveling Thursday is a weekly meme hosted and created by Catia and Danielle and you can find more information about how to participate (Spoiler: It’s easy 😉) in their Goodreads group! The weekly topics are posted there each month as well! If you’re interested definitely check out that group!

This week’s topic is: We all have to start out of somewhere. Choose a book that got you into reading. I think this is a great topic to start with, as everyone has one of those books and it’s not too hard to find a good one 🙂 I chose Inkheart by Cornelia Funke! Cornelia Funke is a really famous author in Germany, since she’s a German author who is also quite successful internationally.I believe that almost every German kid my age has read one of her books in elementary school, and so have I – obviously! Let’s go!!

I really love these original book covers a lot! They match the topic of the book perfectly and even show some scenes from the book. I also find it really great that the cover displays some letters the way they are also printed inside the book, at the beginning of each chapter!

(Hardcover by Cecilie Dressler Verlag, 564 pages)

Favorite Cover(s):

As I said before I love the German edition A LOT! But I also found this gift edition on Goodreads and while it doesn’t really have all that much to do with the story it’s still really pretty and I’m in love with the gold and red! Also I quite like how detailed all that golden drawing stuff is 😍

(Gift Edition Paperback by Chicken House, 544 pages)

Least Favorite Cover(s):

I just do not like this Italian cover at all! I feel like it is way too dark for this story, it’s main characters, and the age group the book was originally aimed at. I don’t like the color scheme and also whatever has that thing coming out of the book to do with the actual story?? It’s just not my thing, I guess 😅

(Paperback by Mondadori, 498 pages)
