Beauty and The Beast | Book Tag |

Today it’s time for another Tag y’all! I was tagged to do the Beauty and The Beast Tag by Gretchen @ ChicNerdReads! Thank you Gretchen!! ☺ Please check out Gretchen’s blog, I am a big fan, especially of the poetry she writes! I know people are probably bored by me saying this all the time but …. I do not care at all, her poetry goes straight to the heart!!

For one I totally agree with Gretchen on the Bad Boy Trope, but I also love “Girl/Boy falls for Best Friends older Brother” situations! I’m a sucker for those books and I don’t think I’ve ever come across one that I didn’t like!!

Oh goodness… Usually I do not buy books solely based on their appearance but one I mainly bought for its cover was – I think – Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi, maybe… Of course I liked the Synopsis as well but when I bought the book I found it’s cover really cool and pretty!

I honestly think that one might’ve been Cinder by Marissa Meyer! I think y’all know by now that this is one of my favorite series, but when I picked it up I thought that I might not like it as it’s Sci-Fi but…. we all know how that turned out 😉😁 The book is absolutely incredible and you can check my review out here!

You know…. I don’t think I have one of those. I usually don’t read the books that are currently “in” because my reading plans are always all over the place 😅 The only one I could mention here is After by Anna Todd but since a lot of people hate this one as well I gotta stick with not having an answer for this question 😅

BAMBI FROM THE DARK ELEMENTS!!! I mean Bambi is basically just a demon snake that can turn into a human – she’s a familiar – but I loved her so so much!! I wouldn’t necessarily say I loved her more than the two leads, but I liked her at least just as much…..which is a lot!! 😅 She’s this sassy tattoo/animal/human that brings across so much emotion, irony, and fun without saying a word – for most of the time at least – and her eating a whole person (or a few) helps with liking her a lot as well 😅

(Art Credit: Maria Trepalina)

Usually books don’t help me through difficult times as I am the type who uses music for that, therefore I don’t have a book for that aspect. I do have a book that taught me something valuable though! Sweet Soul by Tillie Cole! The Female lead in this book is strongly hearing impaired and since she couldn’t afford a proper hearing aid her speaking abilities have suffered as well. Due to that she was bullied a lot which led to horrible things and history will repeat itself…..

I feel like I am not a judgmental  person at all, and “actively” I am not. I would never just go ahead and talk crap about a person without knowing them, but subconsciously I do judge people and I find it horrible!! This book has strengthened my desire to control those subconscious thoughts and keep them from coming out! I personally know how it feels to be judged by people who don’t know you so I found it horribly ashamed when I did it myself! I’m doing a lot better now and I am proud of that!

Once again I don’t have a concrete example but I think for this one I can go ahead and “judge” 😅 a whole genre…. For me Thrillers are usually pretty slow and in the beginning I’m not really into it but oftentimes that changes after a few murders or psychological torture 😅😉

Winter from Winter (The Lunar Chronicles #4) by Marissa Meyer! I mean come on, she’s a princess therefore has great manners and she is one of the kindest people I have ever read about! And she would probably say the food tasted great even though it was horrible 😅 and then she’d scream at the bleeding walls and I’d freak out – perfect dinner!

I tag:

If you have already done this tag feel free to decline, if not I hope you’ll enjoy it!!! 😁

The Goodreads Tag |Book Tag|

I hope you’re not getting sick of book tags yet because there are more to come for sure!! 😅😊 This time I was tagged by *Drumroll* Lara @ The Heathen! Is this even a surprise to y’all anymore? Thank you so much Lara! Lara is always so supportive and her blog has great and important content so definitely go check out her blog!

Do it!!

What was the last book you marked as read?

A Love Like Ours by Micalea Smeltzer

I actually finished this book a few days ago and I have been wanting post the review but I can’t get anything done currently! School’s keeping me so busy, but I hope I can get it out to y’all soon anyways!

What are you currently reading?

Winter by Marissa Meyer

Midnight Hour by C.C. Hunter

This book series is life and while I am sad that it’s the last book in the series, I am also happy that Miranda finally gets her own story!

What was the last book you marked as to-read?

When Michael met Mina by Randa Abdel-Fattah

I saw this book in a post by Reg @ She Lattitude, it sounded really interesting and like something I’d like so I immediately added it to my TBR list! And btw apparently I forgot to mention Reg in my ‘New York Times by the book Tag’ post , so here’s the updated post. Sorry Reg!

What book do you plan to read next?

Since my last post I decided that I’ll probably read Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff! I just need something different and I think this will be a great, different, interesting book to read….but I never know which ebooks might cross my path 😉

Do you use the star rating system?

Yes I do! When I created my blog I actually wanted to come up with a different rating system but in the end I just decided to stick with the good old star system! I just think it’s a great universal way to rate something, that everybody understands! 👍🏼

Are you doing a 2016 reading challenge?

Yes I am, but sadly I had to lower my goal recently…. I am extremely busy with school (German school doesn’t mess around 😅) so I can’t get anything done – I only published 5 posts this month and that’s just sad!

3 books ahead of schedule

Do you have a wishlist?

Yes I do but usually it’s quite short because I like to just let the books find me – unless it’s one of those auto-buy authors!

What book do you plan to buy next?

Well the one I KNOW I am going to buy is A Veil of Vines by Tillie Cole, as she is an auto-buy author for me! But in between that I’m sure I am going to buy other books, I just do not know them yet!

Do you have any favorite quotes? Share a few.

Who are your favorite authors?

Amongst a few others they are: Tillie Cole, Marissa Meyer, C.C. Hunter, James Dashner, Teresa Sporrer, Jay McLean and Micalea Smeltzer!

Have you joined any groups?

I haven’t joined a lot of groups so far and I’m not really active in any of them…. So far I haven’t really used Goodreads as a social network, but mainly as a way to organize my books 😅

Thank you guys for reading this post and I hope you enjoyed it!

New York Times “By the book” Tag

It’s Tag time!! I’m sorry for not putting any reviews out lately but I’m honestly not reading books that I necessarily want to write a review about…. Still a sucky type of reading slump! I really can’t get trough the books that I really enjoy, that have been on my shelf for weeks and I don’t know why!! Well I guess I’m gonna have to keep doing tags until I get over this fucking reading slump! I got tagged to do this by Reg @ She Latitude, so go check out her post and her blog in general – you won’t be disappointed!!

rosesWhat book is on your nightstand now?

I generally do not keep my books on my nightstand, so in my case it’s on a little side part of my desk 🙈There I have 3 books currently and those are Winter by Marissa Meyer, Into The Wild by Jon Krakauer, and Faust by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe! Well… and the few hundreds on my Kindle 😅 Those literally are on my nightstand and I count them, since I basically read my favorite scenes from a random one (whichever one I feel like) every day!!

What was the last truly great book you’ve read?

It was a while ago that I’ve read this book, but it was absolutely amazing and since that
one I just haven’t read a book that left me speechless and touched. This last book was When We Collided by Emery Lord! (Here is my review for this book) It had a very big impact on me that none of the books I’ve read afterwards could top – so far!when-we-collided-emery-lord

If you could meet any writer – dead or alive – who would it be? And what would you want to know?

There are SO many!! But currently I think it would be Johann Wolfgang von Goethe or Friedrich Schiller. We have to read so many of their works in school, interpret and analyze them, and we talk about them non-stop! I would find it really interesting to hear from them what they thought about their literature, I mean maybe we got it all wrong, right? Also I would like to know what they think about their importance and presence in German-class!

What books might we be surprised to find on your shelf?

Maybe the Manga books that I have?! I really don’t know 😅 Also all the required reads for German-class as well as some law books… Never know when you might need those 😉

How do you organize your personal library?

I’ve had my bookshelves organized so many different ways so far, it’s not even funny..😅

I pretty much went trough every kind of order you can imagine but currently I chose to organize it in a Goodreads type of way… You know: TBR, Read, Currently Reading and so on 🙂

What book have you always meant to read and haven’t gotten around to yet?

A LOT! For example I’ve wanted to read “To Kill A Mockingbird” but I just haven’t gotten around to it yet. I really really wanna read it though!!

Disappointing, overrated, just not good: what book did you feel you are supposed to like but didn’t?

Honestly, the only one I can think of right now is “After” by Anna Todd! I usually like most of the books others like, because usually they’re good books so there aren’t many popular ones that I dislike 👍🏼

Ohhhh but there are also those like “The Hunger Games Trilogy” that I originally liked, but that were ruined for me by the hype😅

What kind of stories are you drawn to? Any you stay clear of?

Drawn to:

  • Anything Supernatural (Especially creatures and how they’re unique in each story)
  • Fairytale Retellings
  • Stories with good world-building and authentic characters (therefore I love the first books in series 😉)
  • Books that talk about real, important issues
  • Dystopias of which the way it came to be is relatable

Stay away from:

  • Books were cheating is made out to be alright (I’m looking at you After)
  • Completely unrelatable characters
  • Non-Fiction
  • Post/Pre/Whatever War literature
  • Books supporting idiotic stereotypes

If you could require the president to read one book, what would it be?

I have no clue at all! I feel like I don’t really read books that’d be relevant for the leader of a country…

What do you plan to read next?

I’m gonna follow Reg’s example here! Help me decide! It might take a while until I can get to it but who cares 😁😁

Thank y’all for reading and I hope you enjoyed it ☺

I Tag:

I know, when someone say “I tag everyone” you never feel like they also mean you – at least I don’t – but seriously just do if you feel like it! I’d love to get a link to your post in the comments if you feel like doing this tag!

The Secret Life of a Book Blogger | Book Tag |

For starters: I AM NOT DEAD! 😅 I’m sorry for this mini hiatus, but I had to work through some issues so:

Today it’s time for another Tag, y’all! This time I got tagged by Taylor @ Taylor Reads Books to do the Secret Life of a Book Blogger Tag! Thank you Taylor, and you others please check out her blog! I am really excited to do this Tag – I’ve seen it around and I think it’s a great way to share a few things about the blog!

Line Two

How long have you been a blogger?

I started this blog in April 2016, but I only published 5 posts that month and then quit for two months, so the real blogging started this July!

Line Two

At what point do you think you will stop?

Well, maybe not never, but this is such a great hobby and it’s so much fun, so I want to try to continue for as long as possible!

Line Two

What is the best part?

Y’all are! I really think that this amazing community is the best part about blogging! Everyone is so supportive and you can basically always find someone to talk to about anything! 😍 Also I love that I get to talk about my interests – books -, my favorite things – books -, and that people are actually interested in the same things!

Line Two

What is the worst part?

Sometimes blogging can be quite stressful and I often feel like my posts aren’t good enough and don’t compare to others’…

Line Two

How long does it take you to find/create pictures to use?

As the quality of my cover pictures shows I don’t spend too much time on them… I do my best, try to be creative but constant, but I’m just really not good with creating pictures! The GIFs I take from, so I don’t own any rights of them. I get the pictures of book covers from

Line Two

Who’s your book crush?

I think we already established that 😅 Roth, Crownprince of hell from the Dark Elements series by Jennifer L. Armentrout! A close second is Ethan Dunn, son of the archangel Michael from the Supernaturals series by Kelly Oram.

Line Two

What author would you like to have on your blog?

Definitely Jennifer L. Armentrout! I love her books, she’s one of my favorite authors and it would just be amazing to have someone like her on my blog! Another author that I would find really interesting is Emery Lord. Her book When We Collided had a really big influence on me and I think that she must be a very interesting person!

Line Two

What do you wear when you write your blog?

Adidas running pants and loose shirts or Hoodies 😁 I dress down for my favorite hobby  😅
Line Two

How long does it take you to prepare a post?

It depends… Some posts I write within an hour or two and for others – mostly reviews – I need a few days, or a few hours!

Line Two

How do you feel about the book blogger community/culture?

I absolutely love it! The community (at least from my experience) is very supportive and absolutely lovely! As for the blogging culture… Well I guess I have to like it since I decided to be a part of it, right?

Line Two

What do you think one should do to have a successful blog?

Just be yourself! Try to be unique and stand out, show who you are and, again, be yourself! Also, it’s perfectly alright to make mistakes! This is your space in the internet, do it your way, no one  has the right to say anything about it!

Line Two

That’s it for today and I hope you liked finding out some more about my opinion of blogging 😄

Songs on Repeat Book Tag

I got tagged in this amazing Tag by Lara @ The Heathen who is the creator of this Tag as well! I think I’m starting to repeat myself but definitely check out her blog!! Her content is awesome, she is really supportive, and on top of that she’s a great writer! Here are the songs that are on repeat on my playlist – or in my head 😋

Wie soll ein Mensch das ertragen by Philip Poisel

This is one of the few German songs that I absolutely love!! I know that it might not be a good idea to put a song first that a lot of people won’t understand, but I think even if you can’t understand the lyrics it still is a beautiful song and I love listening to it!

White Tiger by Our Last Night

This is one of my favorite songs of all time!! It is so beautiful and I think it’s not only for fans of this genre but also for other music lovers that are interested in any kind of rock music! I saw Our Last Night live a few weeks ago and this was the song I was most excited for!! Couldn’t wait to hear it live ❤

Forest by Twenty One Pilots

I love Twenty One Pilots! They are so different from a lot of the bands out there and they combine so many styles in their music and even their own songs differ from each other so much! And just let me clarify: I loved them before all the hype and I’m not one of those who only know two or three songs and still calls them their favorite band… I love the chorus of this song and can’t listen to it often enough!

Fame is for Assholes by Hoodie Allen feat Chiddy

This song isn’t what I usually listen too but I absolutely love listening to it in the car with my sister! She has a very different taste in music and the only band we agree on is Twenty One Pilots! But this song is OUR JAM in the car!

Missing You by All Time Low

All Time Low is my absolute all time favorite band! Actually I found out about them through a book I’ve read a while back, which is kinda funny – it all comes back to books 😅 I love this band so much and their songs mean a lot to me, they also were the first “real” band whose concert I went to! Their songs are very emotional to me and helped me through some rough times, I absolutely love Alex Gaskarth’s voice and the sound of the band in general! I could really name any song here but Missing You is one that gets stuck very easily ❤

The music video contains some talking so below there’s just the music!

Anything by State Champs!!

(In this case: All you are is history)

I only started listening to State Champs the day before yesterday actually, and while I knew of them before that, I never really tried to find out more about them for some reason! When I was searching for Secrets by One Republic I came across their song Secrets and I am completely in love with the band! Their music is amazing and I can’t get enough of them! Can’t wait to discover more of their music and maybe see them live some time! 😉

I loved doing this Tag! I got to talk about my music (which is one of my favorite things to do!) and maybe some of you found something they like! I hope the ones that I’ll nominate will have fun with this Tag as well – I know I will, as I love finding out what kind of music people are into!

I Tag:

Yeah I’m REALLY interested in other people’s taste in music 😅

I messed up! | Book Tag

Today I have another Tag for y’all, that I’m kinda late for! 😅  But then again I am not since I just got tagged again two days ago by Angelina Kerner @ Where Dragons Reside! Thanks for that! Before that I had been tagged by Lara @ The Heathen and y’all should definitely check out their blogs! They both are really supportive and their posts are just great!! 😊

A Character Appearance you misread or imagined differently?

Well I don’t really misread it, but sometimes I “adjust” things 😂 For example when they are dressed in a way I absolutely hate and if it’s not important for the story I just imagine them looking a little different 😅

A character name that you’ve been pronouncing wrong?

Yes! Rune from A Thousand Boy Kisses by Tillie Cole! I always pronounced it like the English word rune, even though I knew it was wrong, since I didn’t know the right way. But the author once shared a video of a Norwegian friend of hers pronouncing the name (which is Norwegian), so now I know the correct pronunciation! Yay! But honestly… I still pronounce the name the same way as before because I’d probably mess up the Norwegian way completely!

*BTW I tried to find the video but I couldn’t – Sorry guys!*

An overused trope that is your guilty pleasure?

Uhmm…I guess the one that comes to my mind right now is “Sister falling for big brother’s friend”! I’, a sucker for those books, however cliché it might be!

A Cliché Character That You Like Better On Screen Than Reading About?

There aren’t any that I can think of…

A Word Or Phrase That You Learned Because of It’s Use In Books?

I learned A LOT of phrases and words from books, especially when I first started reading English books, since it’s not my first language! Even now I learn a lot of phrases but I can’t put my finger on a single one right now!

Have You Ever Read/Not Completed A Required Reading Book For School?

I always try to complete my readings for school, as I am really ambitious and want to be prepared for tests and such – Yes, sometimes it took a LONG time for me to finish them, but I always finished them in the end!

How You Ever Skipped (Or Wanted To) A Chapter From The Point Of View Of A Character You Weren’t Interested In?

I don’t think I’ve come across a POV by a character I didn’t like yet. But if I did I wouldn’t not read it, but maybe I would skim across it…

Have You Ever Cancelled Social Plans To Read A Book?

Not yet, even though I wanted to 😅 But sometimes I do read at social things – so my best friend made drinking game for that…. It’s bad!

I tag:

Thanks for reading and I hope y’all will have fun with the Tag!!

This or That Book Tag

Hello everyone! Once again I got tagged in something by Lara @ The Heathen! What would I even do without you Lara? 😄 Y’all should definitely check out her blog since her posts are of great quality and she is also an excellent writer! I am really excited to do this Tag, because I’ve seen it around a few times and really liked it, so I am happy that Lara decided to tag me! Thanks again for that!

The Rules

  • Mention the creator of the Tag (Ayunda @ Tea and Paperbacks)
  • Thank the blogger who tagged you
  • Tag 10 people to do the tag and share the love

Reading on the bed or reading on the couch?

This used to not matter to me at all but some time ago I found the perfect reading position on my bed! It’s perfect!! I can put my book down on my bed, cover up with my blanket and look out the window – AND I have a place to put my tea right beside me!

Main Character: Male or Female?

I really like both of those, but I have to admit that I have a lot more books featuring a female main character than a male one. Also I can relate better to female character since I’m a girl obviously but I enjoyed Thomas as a main character in The Maze Runner very much, so I really can’t make a decision here!

Sweet or salty snacks while reading?

I absolutely love salty snacks and I have this certain brand of baked chips that I can’t stay away from! They’re so unhealthy (like all chips, duh) but I also like pistachios, which I can count as a little healthy at  least! 😉

Trilogies or Quartets?

I actually always tell myself to stay away from series because there’s always waiting and spending a lot of money involved… But still I kind of gravitate towards them and I absolutely love series. I really can’t decide here guys! It also depends on the content of the series. If it sucks I won’t read four books or more – who would? Aaand I also like series with 12 books for example, so yep – not gonna decide on this one either! *Please don’t hate me!*

First person or Third person POV?

Even though a lot of the books I own are written in first person I like the third person perspective a tad bit more! I feel like a lot of authors prefer writing in the first person perspective and it’s just around a lot more than third person and therefore, of course, I also love that POV! But if I had have to choose one of them it’s definitely third person POV!

Night or morning reader?

I am definitely a late afternoon / night reader! I feel like in the evening I am done with my day and don’t have to worry about anything because everything should be taken care of by then – this makes reading just so much more enjoyable and I’m more relaxed!

Libraries or Book stores?

I can’t do libraries!! Okay now it’s out there! I love the idea of libraries and I think libraries in my country are usually pretty up-to-date, but I just can’t read books from the library! I seriously do not know why but I can’t seem to finish books from the library. And believe me, I wish I could because book stores are weighting heavy on my bank account! 😋

Books that make you laugh or books that make you cry?

Definitely books that make me laugh! I love the occasional Tearjerker – well, as much as you can love something that makes you cry out your body’s water storage – but generally I like books that make me laugh more, especially if the reason for my laughing is a sarcastic, witty character! 😛 ✌🏽

Black or White Book Covers?

This is a hard one I think… Since a lot of the books I own are actually full of color it’s hard for me  to pick one. But ever since I saw this question I had the cover of The Problem With Forever by Jennifer L. Armentrout in my head which is mainly white, with colorful accents, so I am gonna go with white here!

Character driven or plot driven stories?

Okay, please tell me who can choose between these two??? Tell me!! But I guess I can read a book with a alright story if I love the characters, just for their sake. But if I don’t really like the characters I don’t think I could pull through, even with a really good story! But again, both is really important!

I’m not gonna tag anyone specific today, I have a lot of catching up to do and a lot of people to tag! You should all feel tagged!! Thank you guys for reading 🙂

What are y’all’s opinions on these?I hope I’ll be able to find this tag on some of your blogs!!

3 Days, 3 Quotes Tag ~ Day 3

Hi Guys! Today is my last day of sharing a quote for the 3 Days, 3 Quotes Tag! One last time I thank Martin @ a pretty wonderful book for tagging me!! Thank you so much! These Tags (and other things of course) really make me feel like a part of the blogging community so being tagged in anything makes me so happy! Y’all should definitely check out Martin’s blog!

The Rules:

1. Thank the person who nominated you
2. Post a quote for 3 consecutive days (1 quote for each day)
3. Nominate three new bloggers each day

(“Dare to think”, Immanuel Kant)

So this is a little shortie for today and once again by Immanuel Kant! I said before that I really like this philosopher’s ideas and this one might be the most important one! I think everyone should live by this sentence and not let other people’s opinions dictate their lives. In today’s society, were most people have the chance to be free, a lot of these free people still aren’t truly free as they let other people influence them too much…

Today I tag … Every single one of you! If you would like to do this tag – just do it!

I hope y’all liked my choices for these three days and thank you for reading! I hope y’all have a great day! 🙂

3 Days, 3 Quotes Tag ~ Day 2

Hello Guys! Today is my second day of doing the 3 Days, 3 Quotes Tag and I’m really excited to show y’all another one of my favorite quotes! Once again I get to thank Martin @ a pretty wonderful book for tagging me and y’all should definitely check out his blog!

The Rules:

1. Thank the person who nominated you
2. Post a quote for 3 consecutive days (1 quote for each day)
3. Nominate three new bloggers each day

The prob with forever

This is really my favorite quote from one of my favorite books, so I definitely had to put it in this Tag! I’m not a big fan of the thought of “forever” and I can relate to this quote so much! I really feel like the author just took my thoughts and wrote them down! 😀

Today I tag:

Thanks you guys for reading and have a great time! 🙂

3 Days, 3 Quotes Tag ~ Day 1

Hi Guys! Today I am starting with the 3 Days, 3 Quotes Tag that I was tagged in by Martin @ a pretty wonderful book! Thank you so much!! Y’all should definitely check out his blog if haven’t already!

The Rules:

1. Thank the person who nominated you
2. Post a quote for 3 consecutive days (1 quote for each day)
3. Nominate three new bloggers each day

I absolutely love Immanuel Kant as a philosopher and the views he had on several topics like humanity, society and how we should (or shouldn’t) treat one another! I think this quote just holds so much truth about the majority of humanity so I thought this would be a good one to start the three days off.

Today I tag:

Thank you guys for reading!! 🙂
