It’s Tag time!! I’m sorry for not putting any reviews out lately but I’m honestly not reading books that I necessarily want to write a review about…. Still a sucky type of reading slump! I really can’t get trough the books that I really enjoy, that have been on my shelf for weeks and I don’t know why!! Well I guess I’m gonna have to keep doing tags until I get over this fucking reading slump! I got tagged to do this by Reg @ She Latitude, so go check out her post and her blog in general – you won’t be disappointed!!
What book is on your nightstand now?
I generally do not keep my books on my nightstand, so in my case it’s on a little side part of my desk 🙈There I have 3 books currently and those are Winter by Marissa Meyer, Into The Wild by Jon Krakauer, and Faust by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe! Well… and the few hundreds on my Kindle 😅 Those literally are on my nightstand and I count them, since I basically read my favorite scenes from a random one (whichever one I feel like) every day!!
What was the last truly great book you’ve read?
It was a while ago that I’ve read this book, but it was absolutely amazing and since that
one I just haven’t read a book that left me speechless and touched. This last book was When We Collided by Emery Lord! (Here is my review for this book) It had a very big impact on me that none of the books I’ve read afterwards could top – so far!
If you could meet any writer – dead or alive – who would it be? And what would you want to know?
There are SO many!! But currently I think it would be Johann Wolfgang von Goethe or Friedrich Schiller. We have to read so many of their works in school, interpret and analyze them, and we talk about them non-stop! I would find it really interesting to hear from them what they thought about their literature, I mean maybe we got it all wrong, right? Also I would like to know what they think about their importance and presence in German-class!
What books might we be surprised to find on your shelf?
Maybe the Manga books that I have?! I really don’t know 😅 Also all the required reads for German-class as well as some law books… Never know when you might need those 😉
How do you organize your personal library?
I’ve had my bookshelves organized so many different ways so far, it’s not even funny..😅
I pretty much went trough every kind of order you can imagine but currently I chose to organize it in a Goodreads type of way… You know: TBR, Read, Currently Reading and so on 🙂
What book have you always meant to read and haven’t gotten around to yet?
A LOT! For example I’ve wanted to read “To Kill A Mockingbird” but I just haven’t gotten around to it yet. I really really wanna read it though!!
Disappointing, overrated, just not good: what book did you feel you are supposed to like but didn’t?
Honestly, the only one I can think of right now is “After” by Anna Todd! I usually like most of the books others like, because usually they’re good books so there aren’t many popular ones that I dislike 👍🏼
Ohhhh but there are also those like “The Hunger Games Trilogy” that I originally liked, but that were ruined for me by the hype😅
What kind of stories are you drawn to? Any you stay clear of?
Drawn to:
- Anything Supernatural (Especially creatures and how they’re unique in each story)
- Fairytale Retellings
- Stories with good world-building and authentic characters (therefore I love the first books in series 😉)
- Books that talk about real, important issues
- Dystopias of which the way it came to be is relatable
Stay away from:
- Books were cheating is made out to be alright (I’m looking at you After)
- Completely unrelatable characters
- Non-Fiction
- Post/Pre/Whatever War literature
- Books supporting idiotic stereotypes
If you could require the president to read one book, what would it be?
I have no clue at all! I feel like I don’t really read books that’d be relevant for the leader of a country…
What do you plan to read next?
I’m gonna follow Reg’s example here! Help me decide! It might take a while until I can get to it but who cares 😁😁
Thank y’all for reading and I hope you enjoyed it ☺

I know, when someone say “I tag everyone” you never feel like they also mean you – at least I don’t – but seriously just do if you feel like it! I’d love to get a link to your post in the comments if you feel like doing this tag!
Great book tag – and thanks for tagging us!! I would strongly recommend Illuminae to sort out that reading slump of yours 😊

Thanks, I actually thought that’d be a good choice too, since it’s so different from other books and I’ve heard great things about it 😄

I had to read To Kill A Mockingbird in school but I think I didn’t fully appreciate it back then, so I want to re-read it sometime 🙂

Thanks for the tag, Tammy! I’m sorry about the reading slump, but I’m sure you’ll get out of it soon. To Kill a Mockingbird is my favorite book EVER, and I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it once you get to it. 🙂 Also, I highly, highly recommend you read A Court of Thorns and Roses next. If that doesn’t get you out of your slump (and it’s spellbinding sequel, A Court of Mist and Fury), then I don’t know what will! x

I’m in the worst reading slump as well. I read two incredible books this month and now it’s like nothing I pick up I can finish. Hopefully we both get out of our slumps soon because they’re terrible. Also, I’m so with you on After by Anna Todd. I actually read that one back when she was first publishing it on Wattpad as One Direction fanfiction and everyone in that fandom (which I was admittedly a part of for a while) loved it but I couldn’t bring myself to even finish it because I really didn’t like it. 😖
Great post!

Thanks! I actually attempted reading the wattpad version as well (wasn’t so sure about the book so I wasn’t gonna spend 10 $ on it 😅) and I found it just horrible! Now let’s go ahead and defeat the reading slump!

I LOVE manga! What manga do you read? I’m such a sucker for the bigger shounen stuff and various shoujo.
And I vote for This Savage Song – Victoria Schwab is one of my favourite authors ever and I will recommend her books to the end of the earth. Thanks for doing the tag – hope it helped a bit with the reading slump. 💕
