Top 5 Wednesday – Characters you wouldn’t want to trade places with

Top 5 Wednesday Time, y’all! Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly (bookish) meme for anyone interested in books, that is hosted by Sam @ Thoughts on Tomes! You can check out the Goodreads group for this meme to find out more about topics, fellow bloggers, rules and such! Go check it out ๐Ÿ˜

This weeks topic is Characters you wouldn’t want to trade places with! Partly this is a no-brainer, but for some of these I had to think for a while!

Anyone from The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins

Seriously this is the biggest no-brainer ever!! In this series you are either a killer, being trained to be aย killer, you are an arrogant, self-concerned asshole, or your life sucks – if you put it bluntly! I did enjoy reading these books and of course a lot of people are fighting back, but until the end of the books everyone is still miserable or one of the above…๐Ÿ˜…

Emperor Kaito from The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer

Kai is so young when his father dies and it must be incredibly hard to deal with this loss, while also having to take care and rule a country! I think the position of the leader of a country is always a hard one, but adding Kai’s father’s death makes it even harder and I don’t know how Kai manages to still be such a great person!

Vivi from When We Collided by Emery Lord

I just want to say at the very beginning that I don’t think Vivi has a bad life or anything, or that having a mental illness makes your life worse than others’! But I know from experience that I probably wouldn’t be a person who’s able to deal with such an illness well! A lot of people have the ability to come to terms with this kind of disease and have a great life anyways – I, sadly, wouldn’t be one of them!

The Victim in any Thriller

No-brainer nรบmero dos! Who wants to get killed by a psychopath? No one? Figured!

Gally from the Maze Runner series by James Dashner

When reading the books I hated Gally at first but,

*Spoilers*

at some point it came out that he was really one of the people who were manipulated the most! He did horrible things that he didn’t have any control over and feels horrible for that! I have compassion for him and I would not want to be in his shoes – like, seriously, NO!

Which characters would you not want to trade places with?

    • Tammy @ a word about books says:

Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š I think it’s really easy to feel this way about characters from dystopias, but sometimes these everyday problems can have a huge impact that makes you be glad for what you have…
